Micorgate Hi-Tech Park is located in Pingshan District, the latest direct district in Shenzhen, Guangdong. At the furthest east district of Shenzhen, Pingshan marks the great expansion of the city. This new district has its own railway station - Shenzhen Pingshan Station of the Xiamen-Shenzhen Railway, which allows fast transportation to the center of Shenzhen within half an hour. To obtain maximum daylight, the office headquarter building is orientated to the south while the vertical circulation core is offset to the north side of the building. This also helps to creates a larger, continuous and unobstructed office spaces that were required in order to accommodating the different departments and research groups needs within Microgate Corporation.
Light steel stairs located at the atrium space are connecting different floors and they help to improve the communication between the office workers at different levels in the building. Small gardens and green getaways pockets at the atrium space furthermore stimulate the opportunity of communication by allowing people to take a break from the daily office hours.
The primary headquarter facade elements are the perforated weathered cor-ten steel sun shading louvers. Generated from the building shape, the facade fins can underline more the dynamic building shape by gradually reducing their widths toward the exposed building core. The two solid parts of the core where are located the two emergency stairs, which are clad with solid cor-ten steel panels in order to be in harmony with the building facades. Thus, by using this specific metal material a distinctive bronze color nuance gives to the entire tech park a distinctive architectural image and makes it to be very well designated in the entire area.
The oval corners of the building to ensure that there could be experiencing a panoramic view of 180° degrees overlooking from the beautiful Pingshan Mountains in the district central area. It evokes the sense of visually-meditative experience that leads to happier and healthier employees who are also more productive in the work environment.
